Indian Railways allows LNG transportation

The Indian Railways has allowed the transport of liquefied natural gas (LNG) through its network, allowing for cheaper fuel delivery to areas without pipelines. The move will help ports that already have natural gas regasification terminals and rail connectivity attract more gas shipments. With rail access, LNG import terminals in Gujarat and southern India will be able to access the entire domestic market. Trucks are currently used to transport gas to users who are not connected to a piped supply.
