Indian Railways has approved the introduction of the Bhuj-Barauni Amrit Bharat Express, a tri-weekly long-distance passenger service numbered 19427 and 19428. The train will connect Bhuj in Gujarat with Barauni in Bihar across a 2,532 km route covering Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Train 19427 will leave Bhuj at 5:30 PM and reach Barauni at 4:05 AM the following day. In the reverse direction, train 19428 will depart from Barauni at 11:55 PM and arrive at Bhuj at 1:15 PM the next day, providing a direct connection between western and eastern India.

The Bhuj-Barauni service will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Barauni-Bhuj service will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Major stoppages will include Samakhiali, Ahmedabad, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Bharatpur, Mathura, Bareilly, Gorakhpur, Siwan, Chhapra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur and Samastipur.

Amrit Bharat Express trains are designed for affordable long-distance travel and generally provide non-air-conditioned sleeper and unreserved accommodation. The category is intended for routes exceeding 800 km or journeys lasting more than 10 hours, offering an alternative to several reserved air-conditioned services.

Bhuj is located in Gujarat’s Kutch district, while Barauni is in Bihar’s Begusarai district. The new service will link major railway junctions, population centres and commercial areas across multiple railway zones, expanding direct rail access between the two regions. The trains will use Indian Railways’ five-digit numbering system, with 19427 assigned to the Bhuj-Barauni direction and 19428 to the return journey.
