Indian Railways has utilised Rs 1.15 trillion (tn), accounting for around 39 per cent of its budget allocation for the financial year 2026–27. The expenditure to July reflects progress on infrastructure, safety and capacity enhancement initiatives across the national network. The development indicates active deployment of funds to projects intended to improve passenger and freight movement while strengthening key corridors and addressing bottlenecks that affect operational efficiency.
