The Indore Metro achieved a new milestone as a metro train completed a 17-km trial run for the first time, reaching Radisson Square from the Gandhi Nagar depot. This marks the longest trial stretch undertaken so far by the Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL).

The test run was conducted to evaluate the system’s performance, including track alignment, signalling, and train control mechanisms. Officials stated that the successful completion demonstrates significant progress in the project’s readiness for partial operations.

According to MPMRCL engineers, the route covers several key city areas and is part of the metro corridor designed to ease congestion and provide a sustainable transport alternative. The trial run also validated the operational safety parameters and coordination between various subsystems.

The Indore Metro project, envisioned to transform the city’s public transport landscape, aims to enhance connectivity, reduce traffic pressure, and promote eco-friendly urban mobility.
