Ircon Wins Rs 6.42 Billion Mumbai Metro Power Systems Contract

Mumbai-based Ircon International Limited has secured a major contract from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) for Package-2 of Line-6 of the Mumbai Metro Rail Project. The contract covers the design, supply, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of power supply and traction systems, as well as electrical and mechanical works including lifts and escalators.
The project focuses on the metro corridor connecting Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli (Eastern Express Highway). It also includes five years of maintenance following a two-year defect liability period.
The contract is valued at Rs 6.42 billion and Euro 2.78 million, excluding GST and customs duties. The execution timeline spans 104 weeks for construction, followed by two years of defect liability and five years of maintenance.
Awarded under routine domestic business operations, this contract further strengthens Ircon’s presence in urban transport infrastructure and highlights its growing role in India’s metro development initiatives.
