Jaipur Metro Casts First Pier Cap for Phases 1C and 1D
The Jaipur Metro project marked a significant milestone as Sam India Builtwell completed the casting of the first pier cap under Phases 1C and 1D. The work falls under civil contract JP/EW/1C&1D(Elevated)/02R, signalling progress in the city’s expanding metro network.
The contract involves the design and construction of an elevated ramp, viaduct, and one elevated station—Transport Nagar—for Phase 1C, spanning from chainage 13,040 metres to 13,996 metres. Phase 1D includes the construction of an elevated viaduct and an elevated station at Ajmer Road Chauraha, including a loop line. This section runs from the Mansarovar dead end to the Ajmer Road Chauraha dead end, covering key infrastructure such as entry-exit structures, drainage systems, roof sheeting, and pre-engineered roofing.
In a parallel development, Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) has submitted a draft Detailed Project Report (DPR) for future expansions. However, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and his team have proposed modifications to the alignment and station locations.
These ongoing developments reflect the Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation’s efforts to strengthen urban connectivity and modernise the city’s public transport system under Phases 1C and 1D.
