Kochi Metro gets nod for Kakkanad land
It was mentioned that the in-principle approval was being given under the condition that the Kochi Metro Rail (KMRL) would acquire a portion of the land owned by the Children’s Home, measuring 13.92 cents. Additionally, KMRL had given their assurance to maintain the entrance gate of the Children’s Home and to build a solid wall to separate the planned Metro station from the Children’s Home area.
The matter regarding the acquisition of the land had been discussed during a meeting overseen by the Principal Secretary of the Revenue Department. The Children’s Home had put forth their demand that certain preliminary tasks, including the construction of a boundary wall, relocation of existing underground water tanks, and the shifting of security cabin and gates, should be completed before the commencement of the Metro construction activities.
