Kohima to be connected with railway network by 2026

Kohima, the state capital, will be connected to the train system by 2026, Nagaland Transport Minister P Paiwang Konyak stated in front of the Assembly on Tuesday. Konyak stated that the construction of the Dimapur-Dhansiripar to Kohima-Sechu broad gauge railway line is being done in three phases in response to a pointed question from NDDP MLA Yitachu in the Assembly. He claimed that Phase-I, which covered 0–17 km, was totally finished, but Phase-2, covering a distance of 17–44 km, was only 65 per cent complete, and Phase-III, covering a distance of 44–82.50 km, had only 12 per cent of its work completed.
