The 'Metro Ride Kolkata App' has been downloaded by more than 4.94 lakh Android users and 5820 iOS users. The app, developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), has garnered significant popularity among users. It allows Metro commuters to recharge their Smart Cards or book QR Code Based tickets conveniently from anywhere.

The app was launched on March 5 for Android and on March 22 for iOS. According to Kausik Mitra, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO), the download figures indicate the widespread acceptance and popularity of the app among Metro users.

To increase awareness among commuters, special promotional films demonstrating how to download and use the app are being displayed on platform televisions at North-South and East-West Metro stations. Additionally, Metro staff have been assisting passengers in downloading the app and explaining how to use it at various stations.
