Lucknow's new and improved world-class railway hub, says Rajnath Singh
Singh highlighted the importance of the Amrit Bharat scheme in Uttar Pradesh. The scheme makes an investment of Rs 410 billion for the redevelopment of 554 stations and 1,500 railway overbridges and underpasses.
Singh recalled intervening during a budget speech by the then railway minister to ensure Lucknow was included in the stations earmarked for transformation into world-class facilities. He praised the collaborative effort that overcame obstacles, leading to the fulfilment of his dream project.
He also provided updates on the other infrastructure projects in Lucknow?Several flyovers are under construction and are to be completed soon, development of the ring road (which is to be inaugurated in March by PM Modi), and Lucknow will soon become a manufacturing hub for BrahMos missiles.
