Maha Metro has issued a tender for the automatic fare collection system contract for Nagpur Metro Phase Two. The procurement notice seeks bids from qualified system integrators for supply, installation, testing and commissioning of an integrated fare collection solution. The tender covers hardware, software, communications infrastructure and back office systems required to manage ticketing and revenue. The authority indicated that the package will support smartcards, contactless payments and token vending to standardise passenger access across the new corridors.

The AFC system will be defined on a phased implementation aligned with civil works and station commissioning schedules. Provision for on?line account management, remote monitoring and real time reconciliation is included in the technical brief. Bidders are expected to demonstrate experience in large scale urban transit deployments and interoperability with existing ticketing systems.
