MIC Electronics Limited (MIC Electronics) has secured a contract from East Coast Railway (ECoR) worth Rs 21.2 million (mn) to install digital passenger display systems, the company announced. The contract covers supply and implementation of advanced Coach Information Boards (CIBs) and Train Information Boards (TIBs) across multiple stations. The company said the contract aligns with its focus on rail infrastructure technology.

The installations will be carried out at Bargarh Road, Nawapara Road, Junagarh Road, Ambodala and Rengali stations and include networked display panels, central data control units and integration with public announcement systems. Central data control units will enable coordinated content updates and system monitoring from a central location. The scope emphasises interoperability and adherence to operational protocols for commuter information.

All equipment and interfaces are specified to meet Railway Design and Standards Organisation requirements to ensure reliable round-the-clock operation. The project is slated for completion within six months of the issuance of the Letter of Acceptance. Design acceptance will include functional testing and commissioning before handover.

MIC Electronics is obliged to furnish a performance guarantee equivalent to five per cent of the contract value and to provide a 12-month warranty along with ongoing technical support. Warranty provisions are paired with access to technical resources to support post commissioning performance. The delivery and payment schedule is milestone based and subject to inspection and acceptance by authorised railway officials.

Rakshit Mathur, chief executive officer of MIC Electronics, said the company welcomed the opportunity to partner with ECoR and described the assignment as part of its technology driven strategy to enhance commuter experience and operational efficiency. The initiative is intended to modernise station infrastructure and strengthen passenger information systems across the Sambalpur Division. The project is positioned to improve information accuracy and passenger convenience across the division once fully operational.
