MMRDA Invites Rs 11.55 Billion Bids for Metro Line 4 & 4A

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has issued bids for Package 2/CA 295 of Mumbai Metro Line 4 and 4A. Line 4 spans 35.3 km from Wadala to Kasarvadavali, featuring 32 stations. Line 4A is a 2.7 km extension from Kasarvadavali to Gaimukh, covering two additional stations.
The contract value is Rs 11.55 billion, with a duration of 8.9 years.
The awarded contractor will be responsible for deploying several critical systems for Lines 4 and 4A, including:
- Power supply and traction systems
- Electrical and mechanical (E&M) systems
- Lifts and escalators for both lines
The scope of work covers the design, manufacture, supply, installation, integration, testing and commissioning of power supply, traction, electrical and mechanical systems, and lifts and escalators. It also includes five years of comprehensive maintenance following a two-year defect liability maintenance period.
Separately, Alstom Transport recently secured a major order for the rolling stock of Mumbai Metro Line 4. The company will supply 39 driverless trainsets and a Communications-Based Train Control (CBTC) signalling solution, along with five years of maintenance services.
