MMRDA launches metro line - pillar work in Kalyan & Dombivli
It has been reported that the project, which is estimated to cost Rs 58.65 billion, recently began in Dombivli.
In February, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde was reported to have performed the groundbreaking ceremony for this project. Following this event, work on the Metro Line 12 project began within a short period of time.
Initially, it was mentioned that the project work started at a single location in Dombivli. However, it has since expanded to include the APMC market road in Kalyan and multiple other sites in Dombivli.
It has been stated that the route covers a total distance of 22 km and will include 19 stations.
It has been predicted that once this metro line becomes operational, two and a half lakh passengers will benefit from it regularly. Additionally, it has been suggested that this will also reduce the crowd on local trains between Kalyan and Thane.
