The Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MPMRCL) has floated a tender worth Rs 1,018.7 million (Rs 1,018.7 mn) for the procurement of lifts and escalators for the Indore Metro. The procurement covers equipment and associated works intended to enhance station accessibility and passenger movement across the network. The move forms part of ongoing efforts to equip stations with vertical transport solutions that meet national safety and accessibility norms.

The invitation to tender calls for delivery, installation, testing and commissioning of passenger lifts and escalators and associated civil and electrical integration works. Bidders will be required to demonstrate prior experience, technical compliance and the capacity to execute within project timelines. The authority has stipulated standard qualification criteria and technical specifications to ensure compatibility with rolling stock and station layouts.

The contract will improve access for persons with reduced mobility and will reduce congestion at entry and exit points during peak hours. Procurement of certified equipment will support operational reliability and maintenance predictability over the asset life cycle. Provision of escalators and lifts is being aligned with station design to facilitate intermodal connectivity and safer passenger flows.
