This innovative metro line will commence at Gaimukh and culminate at Mira Road. Notably, the double-decker design will cover approximately four kilometres, soaring above an elevated road stretching from Gaimukh to Fountain Hotel on National Highway 8. Given constraints on widening the road at Ghodbunder, the double-decker structure will be erected at a minimum height of 20 metres above ground level.

The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has secured several approvals for the elevated road, and these approvals can be transferred to MMRDA. By 2024, MMRDA intends to initiate tender proceedings for this remarkable project, which has already appointed consultants and awaits only environmental clearance.
