NCRTC to Develop Parking and Commercial Hubs at Delhi-Meerut RRTS

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has invited expressions of interest (EOI) for the development of integrated parking and commercial spaces at stations along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor. This initiative aims to transform parking areas into multifunctional hubs that combine convenience with modern amenities, offering diverse commercial facilities for passengers. The project envisions vibrant spaces that integrate parking with outlets, food courts, offices, service apartments, and leisure facilities. These developments will not only serve the immediate needs of commuters but also provide spaces for work, recreation, and short-term stays. By creating these integrated hubs, RRTS stations will evolve into centres for both transportation and business, enhancing the commuter experience. The NCRTC has identified six strategically located stations for the project: Rajnagar, Guldhar, Duhai, Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South. Developers are invited to submit proposals for these locations by December 27, 2024. Detailed application guidelines are available on the official NCRTC website. This initiative is part of NCRTC’s efforts to optimise station spaces and improve infrastructure along the 82-km RRTS corridor, which connects Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi to Modipuram in Meerut. The Namo Bharat train service currently operates over a 42-km stretch between Sahibabad and Meerut South, with trials underway at Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations in Delhi. By merging mobility with commercial development, NCRTC aims to create self-sustaining, passenger-focused hubs, enhancing the utility of RRTS stations and fostering new business opportunities.
