The Delhi government has approved three new metro corridors under Phase V(A), aiming to expand the city network to improve connectivity and air quality. The corridors will link RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha via the Central Vista, Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj, and Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Domestic Terminal one. Officials said the initiative seeks to reduce congestion and strengthen public transport across key administrative and cultural hubs.

The RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha corridor will cover nine point nine one three kilometres and include nine proposed stations. It will pass through the Central Vista area, Shivaji Stadium, Central Secretariat, the CCS buildings, India Gate, the War Memorial–High Court axis, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam and Indraprastha. The route is designed to connect historic and institutional precincts to daily commuter flows.

Officials estimate the corridor will serve around 60,000 government employees and approximately zero point two million (mn) daily commuters. The project cost is Rs 95.70 billion (bn), with the Delhi government contributing Rs 23.37 bn. The RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha section will form part of the Magenta Line after its extension rather than the previously proposed Green Line, increasing the Magenta Line to about 89 kilometres and surpassing the Pink Line.

The Krishna Park Extension to RK Ashram Marg stretch is expected to open for the public in phases in the next financial year, while the RK Ashram to Indraprastha section is likely to be operational by 2028 and the overall project is planned for completion that year. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for support and described the corridors as aligned with a seven C Vision for transportation, focusing on common, connected, convenient, congestion-free, charged, clean and cutting-edge mobility. Officials added that expanding public transport is intended to contribute to environmental protection and long term net zero emission objectives.
