On Saturday, PM Modi officially opened a number of construction initiatives in Karnataka, including the world's longest railway station in Hubballi-Dharwad. Following the opening of the Hubballi railway platform, the city has officially claimed the title of having the longest railway platform in the world at Shree Siddharoodha Swamiji station in the Guinness Book of World Records. The 1,507- meter-long platform cost around 200 million to build.

An essential intersection and a significant centre of trade and business in Karnataka is the Hubballi station. It links the railroads heading towards Hosapete (on the Gadag side), Vasco-Da- Gama/Belagavi, and Bengaluru (on the Davangere side) (Londa side).

The longer platform will increase the yard's operational capacity while also assisting in meeting the city's growing transit needs. Moreover, it will enable many trains to depart concurrently from two directions.

In order to increase connectivity in the area, PM Modi also officially opened the upgraded Hosapete station and the electrification of the Hosapete - Hubballi - Tinaighat railway stretch during an event. The electrification project, which was finished at a cost of more than $5,300 million, guarantees continuous electric train operations.
