PM Modi to Launch Railway Projects and BSNL 4G Stack in Odisha on September 27

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on September 27 to inaugurate key infrastructure and technology initiatives, including the flagging off of the Amrit Bharat Express, the unveiling of railway projects worth Rs 17 billion, and the launch of BSNL’s ‘Swadeshi’ 4G stack.

From Jharsuguda, the Prime Minister will also announce the expansion of eight Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), grant super-specialty status to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur and VIMSAR Hospital in Sambalpur, launch a national skill development programme, and provide aid to 50,000 beneficiaries under the Antyodaya scheme.

Originally planned in Berhampur, the public meeting was shifted to Jharsuguda due to forecasted heavy rain in southern Odisha. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has indicated a possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds in Jharsuguda on the day of the event.

The Prime Minister will address the Namo Yuva Samabesh at Amlipali Ground, near Veer Surendra Sai Airport, Jharsuguda, from 11:25 AM to 12:45 PM. During the visit, he will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express connecting Berhampur with Udhna, Gujarat via video conference and inaugurate a 5 km flyover in Sambalpur City, built at a cost of Rs 2.73 billion.

A major highlight will be the unveiling of BSNL’s ‘Swadeshi’ 4G stack, India-made, cloud-based, and future-ready, with seamless upgradability to 5G. This launch places India among the select group of nations capable of producing and manufacturing advanced telecom equipment domestically.
