Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate two new Delhi Metro corridors and lay the foundation stone for projects valued at Rs 183 billion (Rs 183 bn) in the national capital on March eight, the Chief Minister said. The event will be held at DDA Utsav Sthal?three near Nirankari Mandal and is intended to expand public transport capacity across the city. Officials indicated the work will aim to ease commuting and reduce environmental pressures.

The two inaugurated corridors are Majlis Park to Maujpur?Babarpur on the Pink Line and Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park on the Magenta Line, and the Prime Minister will also begin three corridors under Delhi Metro Phase?V (A). The Phase?V (A) projects comprise the Central Vista Corridor from Ramakrishna Ashram Marg to Indraprastha and Golden Line extensions from Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal?1 and from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. Authorities said the new links will improve access to civic and cultural centres.

The total package exceeds Rs 183 bn and is expected to strengthen public transport, reduce road traffic and help control pollution in the national capital. The state described the initiative as a step towards transforming the city into a developed capital with enhanced accessibility. The works are anticipated to yield benefits for commuters across the National Capital Region.

The Majlis Park to Maujpur?Babarpur section measures 12.3 km with eight elevated stations and will form part of the Majlis Park–Shiv Vihar Pink Line, taking that line to nearly 71.56 km and closing a ring around the city. The Central Vista Corridor will be nine point nine one three km underground with nine stations, while the Golden Line extensions will include a two point two six three km underground link to the airport and a three point nine km elevated stretch to Kalindi Kunj. Officials noted that residents of Faridabad, Ballabhgarh and Noida will gain more direct routes to the airport and to southern parts of the capital.
