Pune Mayor Urges MahaMetro to Draft DPR for Chandani Chowk to Hinjewadi Route
The proposed metro route, spanning from Chandni Chowk to Hinjewadi, is expected to alleviate traffic congestion along the busy Pune-Mumbai Highway corridor. It seeks to provide efficient and sustainable transit options for commuters travelling between the city centre and the prominent IT hub of Hinjewadi.

Once finalized, the DPR will outline key aspects of the metro route's feasibility, including alignment, station locations, construction phases, and estimated project costs. The development of this metro corridor is poised to enhance Pune's connectivity, promote economic growth, and improve overall quality of life for residents.
MahaMetro officials have begun preliminary assessments and feasibility studies for the Chandani Chowk to Hinjewadi metro route, aligning with Pune's long-term urban development goals. The metro project is expected to play a pivotal role in transforming Pune into a more sustainable and commuter-friendly city in Maharashtra.
