RailTel Bags Rs 4,444.4 mn LoI For KSWAN 3.0 Project

RailTel Corporation of India has received a Letter of Intent from the Centre for E-Governance to act as system integrator for the KSWAN 3.0 project. The order is valued at Rs 4,444.4 million (mn) including taxes and was awarded by a domestic entity. The contract is scheduled for execution by 26 March 2031 and the company stated that the promoter, promoter group and group companies have no interest in the awarding entity, classifying the contract as not related party. The work pertains to system integration under the KSWAN 3.0 network.

RailTel Corporation of India was incorporated in 2000 to create nationwide broadband and virtual private network services, telecom and multimedia networks to modernise train control operation and safety systems of Indian Railways. The assignment aligns with the company mission to expand digital infrastructure and government connectivity. The company has pursued projects across government and rail sectors to support connectivity and digital services.

On standalone results, net profit declined four point zero seven per cent to Rs 624.0 mn in the third quarter of financial year 2026, from Rs 650.5 mn in the corresponding quarter of the prior year. Revenue from operations increased 18.99 per cent year-on-year to Rs 9,134.5 mn in the same quarter. The company presented the figures as standalone results for the quarter.

Market reaction saw shares of RailTel Corporation of India slip three point one three per cent to close at Rs 260.25 on 27 March 2026. The order for KSWAN 3.0 is expected to reinforce the company position in government system integration projects and contribute to long-term revenue visibility. Analysts expect the contract to provide steady work flow for specialised integration teams. The company will execute the project over the coming years in line with the scheduled completion date.
