RailTel Wins Rs 0.27 Billion SD-WAN Order From APCPDCL

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has secured a domestic order worth around Rs 0.27 billion from Andhra Pradesh Central Power Distribution Corporation Limited (APCPDCL), reinforcing its growing presence in India’s public sector digital infrastructure segment.

The state-owned telecom and IT services provider received the Letter of Acceptance on 26 January 2026 and disclosed the development to stock exchanges in line with Regulation 30 of SEBI’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements.

Under the contract, RailTel will supply, install, test and configure Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) devices, along with associated hardware and software licences, across APCPDCL offices. The scope of work also includes a five-year comprehensive warranty and technical support, aimed at modernising and strengthening the utility’s communication network.

The order, awarded by a domestic entity, is scheduled to be executed by 31 January 2024, as per the terms outlined in the Letter of Acceptance. RailTel clarified that the contract does not constitute a related-party transaction and that neither the promoter nor promoter group has any interest in APCPDCL.

The latest order highlights RailTel’s expanding role beyond railway communication networks. The company has been steadily broadening its footprint in IT, telecom, data centres and network solutions, serving power distribution companies, state governments and other public sector organisations.

The project is expected to enhance APCPDCL’s operational efficiency by enabling secure, scalable and high-performance digital connectivity, reflecting the increasing adoption of advanced networking technologies in India’s power distribution sector.
