Railway Board Extends Humsafar Express To Charlapalli

The Railway Board has approved the extension of the Indore–Lingampalli Humsafar Express to Charlapalli, with the Indore–Charlapalli service, train number 20916, extended from April 25 and the Charlapalli–Indore return, train number 20915, extended from April 26. The decision forms part of a timetable revision intended to enhance connectivity between Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. The board simultaneously sanctioned the introduction of a new Charlapalli–Narsapur weekly express. The extension will provide a direct rail link for passengers travelling between Indore and the Hyderabad metropolitan area via Charlapalli, reducing the need for multiple transfers.

The Charlapalli–Narsapur Express, train number 17061, will commence from May two while the Narsapur–Charlapalli return, train number 17062, will begin from April 26. These services aim to serve passenger demand on routes linking coastal Andhra Pradesh with the Hyderabad region. They are scheduled as weekly operations to support regional mobility. The services will offer an alternative travel option for residents of coastal districts seeking direct access to the Hyderabad area.

The new and extended services will comprise Second AC, Third AC, Sleeper and General Second Class coaches to cater for a range of travel classes. The Railway Board also approved an increase in frequency of the Kakinada Town–Lingampalli Express, making the Kakinada Town–Lingampalli service, train number 12775, a daily train from April 22 and the Lingampalli–Kakinada Town return, train number 12776, daily from April 21. The change is intended to improve convenience for commuters and long distance travellers. The inclusion of multiple coach classes is intended to accommodate a variety of passenger budgets and travel preferences while supporting reservation flexibility.

Railway authorities said the adjustments are intended to streamline services and respond to passenger needs through targeted timetable changes. Passengers have been advised to consult official railway information channels for detailed schedules and reservation availability before planning travel. Travellers are encouraged to arrive at stations in good time and verify platform and coach details on the day of departure.
