The Railway Minister conducted a comprehensive inspection of the Tilak Bridge–Shakur Basti rail section of Northern Railway, reviewing progress on a range of developmental projects and ongoing works. He held a review meeting with senior railway officials to assess project timelines and operational readiness. The visit included on-site examination of maintenance infrastructure and advanced technologies intended to improve safety and efficiency.

At Shakur Basti depot the minister examined the retractable overhead equipment system that facilitates safe maintenance of locomotives and trains within sheds. He inspected the bogie pit and bogie lifting facilities and instructed officials to enhance operational efficiency at ground level. The report noted that these upgrades form part of a broader strategy to modernise depot capabilities and reduce turnaround times.

A principal element of the visit was the inspection of a hydrogen train, presented as a green technology initiative aimed at reducing pollution on the network. The minister reviewed progress on the project and reiterated the railways' commitment to environmental conservation during a plantation drive for World Environment Day, where he planted a sapling. The department emphasised that the move towards cleaner traction will support the aim of achieving 100 per cent electrification and contributing to national net zero ambitions.

He conducted a surprise inspection of Gurugram Railway Station to review world-class redevelopment works being undertaken at a cost of Rs three billion (3 bn) and issued directions to accelerate delivery. The minister engaged with employees, maintenance staff and passengers to understand practical challenges and instructed time-bound resolution of concerns raised by staff. The visit was presented as an example of ground-connected leadership and close operational oversight. Officials were directed to maintain momentum on redevelopment and modernisation while ensuring passenger convenience.
