Rajiv Chowk Supreme Court Barakhamba Metro Stations Closed
The affected stations include Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhambha Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, New Delhi and Jhandewalan. Officials said the measures form part of broader security arrangements around central Delhi.
Commuters already aboard the network will be able to use interchange facilities at Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House and Central Secretariat to change lines and continue their journeys. These stations have been closed for passenger entry and exit but will remain operational as transfer points between lines. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation issued the advisory on its official X account to inform passengers of the temporary measures. Passengers who have left trains at closed stations are required to use designated routes within the network to reach permitted exits.
Passengers headed for the affected areas were advised to use nearby stations or to make alternative travel arrangements until normal operations resume. Travellers were urged to check the latest advisory before beginning their journeys, to allow additional travel time and to follow instructions of station staff.
DMRC clarified that train services have not been suspended and that regular routes will be maintained while the restricted stations remain closed for boarding and alighting. Updates will be provided through the corporation's official channels and station announcements to keep passengers informed. Station staff and security personnel will be present to manage movement and assist passengers with route information.
