Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to expedite Metro Rail works in the Old City under the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase Two project and to accelerate measures to handle the rising passenger load. He emphasised the need to procure additional Metro coaches to meet growing ridership and to ensure service continuity. The direction followed a review of ongoing works and ridership trends that indicate sustained increases.

During a meeting with senior officials of Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, the Chief Minister instructed that road widening work be stepped up along the seven point five km stretch from MGBS to Chandrayangutta and that the tender process for Metro works on the corridor be initiated. Officials were asked to adhere to timelines and to coordinate with civic agencies to minimise disruption to traffic and local communities. Project monitoring was to be enhanced.

Revanth Reddy sought updates on pending land acquisition and directed officials to finalise expansion plans immediately, stressing that clear land titles and timely compensation processes were essential to avoid further delays. For the MGBS to Chandrayangutta corridor, he advised consultation with the Delhi Metro to determine the appropriate technology and engineering solutions for the alignment and stations. Procurement and contract management processes were to be expedited to keep the schedule on track.

The Chief Minister also reviewed preliminary arrangements for the Invest Telangana Global Summit scheduled for December and reviewed plans to host and recognise prominent business contributors. Officials were instructed to submit a detailed report on investments secured and on progress made following last year’s summit, and to prepare strategies to attract further investment ahead of the event. Administrative teams were asked to finalise logistical arrangements and stakeholder outreach plans.

Officials were directed to submit fortnightly progress reports and to identify critical path activities requiring immediate attention such as utility relocation and traffic management. The state administration was asked to maintain coordination among transport agencies, municipal authorities and project consultants to ensure integrated execution. Timely mobilisation of resources and transparent tender procedures were prioritised.
