Rs 67 billion Mumbai Metro 6 project is 66% complete
According to Srinivas, the majority of the line will pass through the Jogeshwari Vikhroli Link Road, an elevated corridor that will link the EEH and WEH national roads as well as the east-west and north- south regions. With 13 stops, Line 6 will be integrated with the current Mumbai Metro Lines 2A, 3, 4 and 7, the Jogeshwari and Kanjurmarg suburban railway stations, and the city's significant geographic, commercial, and governmental sectors.
The construction of Line 6 will cost approximately Rs 67 billion and is scheduled to be finished in the next couple of years. It is anticipated that it will reduce travel time between EEH and WEH by up to 45 minutes. To provide alternative transportation options, a combined 2.58-km long road flyover project will be built below this line at a common pier in the road media, according to Srinivas. This project's completion will coincide with the building of the Mumbai Metro depot.
While decongesting traffic on the roadways and resulting in time and fuel savings, the expanded phases of Lines 2A and 7 on the WEH and Link Road, which opened in January, have proven to be a godsend for suburban commuters.
