Rs 8.1 Billion Ahmedabad Railway Station Upgrade Underway

The Rs 8.1 billion redevelopment of Ahmedabad railway station is progressing steadily, with construction expected to transform the facility into a world-class transport hub. The project, overseen by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), will integrate modern infrastructure, improved passenger amenities, and sustainable design features.
Modelled on an airport-style layout, the upgraded station will include spacious concourses, enhanced ticketing and waiting areas, improved accessibility, and energy-efficient systems. The redevelopment aims to cater to rising passenger volumes while boosting operational efficiency.
Officials said the project will also enhance connectivity with other modes of transport, contributing to Ahmedabad’s growth as a key urban and economic centre. Once completed, the station is expected to significantly improve travel comfort and service quality for millions of passengers each year.
