To help with the building of the metro station's platform along the New Garia-Airport line, police on Tuesday gave RVNL temporary control of a section close to Nicco Park for a period of ninety days. Within the next three months, the implementing agency RVNL, which will begin construction on Wednesday, has to finish two portions of the platform?one measuring 30 metres and the other 40 metres.
The project will move closer to its goal of functioning in Sector V by the end of this year now that RVNL can bridge the discontinuities on each side of the metro station, a railway engineer stated. RVNL has been instructed by the police to begin work on the Garia end first, then proceed to the airport end. He said, "Therefore, the barricading will be completed." Trials for the Bidhannagar traffic department took place from May 9 to May 16, according to TOI. Following a police inspection of the area last week, RVNL was instructed to enlarge a tiny section on the western edge.
The work was carried out, and on Tuesday, police issued the NOC for traffic diversion. Traffic has been rejigged below the under-construction Nicco Park station, on the flank headed towards Chingrighata. The right-most lane has been closed. A lane from the bypass-bound road is demarcated for the use of airport-bound vehicles. Given the high traffic volume at the Nicco Park crossing, RVNL has created space to make up for the blocked areas.
