RVNL Wins Rs 2.01bn Wagon Workshop Order

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited has secured a major infrastructure contract worth about Rs 2.01 billion from East Coast Railway for setting up a 200-wagon Periodic Overhauling workshop at Kantabanji, strengthening its order book for FY26.

In a regulatory filing, RVNL said it has received the Letter of Acceptance for the project in line with Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

The project involves the development of a modern wagon POH workshop with a handling capacity of 200 wagons. The contract value, excluding GST, is about Rs 2.01 billion, and RVNL has emerged as the sole bidder for the project.

The execution period for the contract is 18 months. Awarded by East Coast Railway, the project does not qualify as a related-party transaction, and neither RVNL’s promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority.

RVNL said the order has been secured in the normal course of business and aligns with its core role in railway infrastructure development. The contract further strengthens the company’s robust project pipeline and reinforces its position as a key execution arm of Indian Railways in the country’s ongoing rail infrastructure expansion.
