Southern Railway Accelerates Thiruvananthapuram Station Upgrades

Southern Railway is accelerating infrastructure upgrades across Thiruvananthapuram, focusing on enhancing passenger experience and operational efficiency. Key developments include transforming Thiruvananthapuram North into a terminal station with new facilities, lifts, and shelters, expected to complete by next month. Neyyattinkara station's redevelopment is progressing swiftly, aiming for completion by August 2025. Thiruvananthapuram Central is undergoing significant upgrades, including a new passenger concourse, slated for completion within two years. Additional improvements at Kazhakkoottam, Pettah, Balaramapuram, Amaravila, Dhanuvachapuram, and Parassala stations aim to alleviate congestion and enhance connectivity, particularly in anticipation of increased traffic from the upcoming Vizhinjam port.
