Southern Railway Achieves 100 Per Cent Electrification

Southern Railway has achieved 100 per cent electrification of its entire 5,068-km Broad Gauge network, completing a 95-year transition from diesel traction to electric operations. The milestone followed the electrification of the final 71-km Pattukkottai-Karaikkudi section in Tamil Nadu.
