Telangana Chief Minister Discusses Hyderabad Metro Phase Two Funding
The chief minister outlined measures undertaken by the state government to advance the project, including preparatory work and financial planning. He stated that the state was engaging with central authorities to secure timely disbursement and to align project timelines. The release said the discussions aimed to ensure continuity of work on Phase two and to address any administrative impediments.
Separately, the chief minister met the Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, to seek support for the development of Adilabad Airport, which is being developed by the Indian Air Force (IAF). He expressed gratitude for the transfer of defence land to construct the Gandhi Sarovar project and underlined the strategic importance of the airport for regional connectivity and national security. He conveyed that the state government would provide full cooperation for land acquisition and utility transfers required for the airport expansion.
The chief minister requested support for the establishment of cargo facilities, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and hangar infrastructure adjacent to the IAF terminal and the civil aviation terminal intended for passenger convenience. He characterised the airport project as a priority for the state and sought central backing to facilitate large scale investments and operational readiness. The state will continue consultations with relevant ministries to expedite approvals and resource mobilisation.
