Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd has won a Rs 1.29 billion contract from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) for railway electrification works in Maharashtra. The order, awarded on 10 September, covers the design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 2*25 KV traction overhead equipment on the Yavatmal–Digras section of the Nagpur Division. The project will be completed over 18 months. Texmaco confirmed that the deal involves no related parties and that its promoters have no connections to RVNL.
The contract comes amid weaker earnings for the company. In Q1 FY26, Texmaco’s net profit fell to Rs 300 million, nearly half of Rs 598 million in the previous year. Revenue dropped 16 per cent to Rs 9.11 billion, while EBITDA declined 33.5 per cent to Rs 712 million. Margins narrowed to 7.8 per cent from 9.8 per cent.
In boardroom updates, Texmaco approved a one-year extension for Indrajit Mookerjee as Executive Director and Vice Chairman from April 2026. It also cleared a five-year reappointment for Sudipta Mukherjee as Managing Director from June 2026, subject to shareholder approval.
