Titagarh Wins Rs 4.3 Billion Contract for Pune Metro TrainS

The consortium of Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd and Titagarh Firema S.p.A. has secured a Rs 4.31 billion rolling stock contract for the Pune Metro project. Awarded as an addendum under Clause A.6 of the original contract (No. P1/RS 01/2018), the order covers the supply of 12 additional trainsets to support growing operational requirements.

The scope includes design, manufacturing, supply, testing, commissioning of electrical multiple units (EMUs), and training of personnel. The execution timeline for the contract is 30 months.

This win comes as Pune Metro prepares to expand under Phase 2, with the central government recently approving the extension of the Aqua Line. The estimated cost of this phase is Rs 36.26 billion, marking a significant investment in the city’s urban mobility infrastructure.
