URC Constructions Wins Bid for Veerannapalya Metro Station
This project is part of the under-construction Blue Line of Bangalore Metro's Phase 2A (ORR Line) and Phase 2B (Airport Line), which will connect Silkboard, KR Puram, and Bengaluru International Airport through 30 stations.
Initially, the construction of Veerannapalya Station was awarded to NCC Ltd. in November 2021 as part of Package P1 of Phase 2B. However, due to delays caused by the relocation of an underground gas pipeline owned by the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL), the task was later removed from NCC’s scope. After the successful relocation of the pipeline, BMRCL issued a tender for the remaining works, which were bid under a limited one-stage process.
The new contract includes the construction of the Veerannapalya Elevated Metro Station along with allied works. This station is one of the key components of the 11.003 km stretch from KR Puram to Hebbal, which will serve several important locations, including Kasturi Nagar, Horamavu, HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, Nagawara, and Kempapura.
URC Constructions Pvt. Ltd.’s successful bid now ensures the timely completion of the Veerannapalya Station, contributing to the continued development of the city’s metro network.
