Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bhavnagar Port Infrastructure (BPIPL) on September 4, 2025, in New Delhi to operate and maintain the upcoming container terminal at the northside of Bhavnagar Port, Gujarat.
BPIPL had earlier entered into an agreement with the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) in September 2024 for the port’s development. Under this arrangement, 235 hectares of land has been leased to BPIPL for 30 years, with provision for expansion by an additional 250 hectares.
The new terminal is expected to significantly enhance logistics connectivity for Central Gujarat, the Dholera Industrial Belt, and customers in the National Capital Region (NCR).
As per the MoU, CONCOR will serve as the Container Terminal Operator, responsible for operations, management, and marketing of the facility. This move marks CONCOR’s strategic entry into port operations, in line with its vision of forward integration. Detailed agreement terms are being finalised.
With its extensive pan-India terminal network and large rolling stock fleet, CONCOR is well-equipped to deliver efficient and cost-effective logistics solutions.
Commenting on the collaboration, Sanjay Swarup, CMD, CONCOR, said, “This partnership is expected to create substantial value for customers and further reinforce CONCOR’s leadership in the logistics sector.”
