Concor to Operate New Container Terminal at Bhavnagar Port

The Container Corporation of India (Concor) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bhavnagar Port Infrastructure (BPIPL) to operate and maintain the upcoming container terminal on the northside of Bhavnagar Port, Gujarat.
Under the MoU, Concor will serve as the terminal operator, overseeing operations, management, and marketing of the facility. This move marks Concor’s strategic foray into direct port operations, aligning with its goal of forward integration in the logistics value chain. The detailed terms and conditions of the agreement are currently being finalised.
The upcoming port terminal is poised to significantly serve the logistics needs of Central Gujarat, the Dholera Industrial Belt, and may even extend its services to customers in the National Capital Region (NCR).
BPIPL had earlier signed an agreement with the Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) in September 2024 for developing the port infrastructure. Under the deal, 235 hectares of land has been leased for 30 years, with an option to expand by an additional 250 hectares.
Concor, primarily involved in inland container transport by rail, also manages air cargo complexes and cold chain facilities, reinforcing its role as a key player in India’s logistics sector.
In its latest quarterly results (Q1 FY26), the company reported a 3.24 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 266.54 crore, with revenue from operations rising 2.40 per cent to Rs 2,153.63 crore compared to Q1 FY25. On the stock exchange, Concor shares closed at Rs 544.70, up 0.55 per cent on the BSE.
