Dighi Port to Handle 200,000 Cars Annually Under New Tie-Up
APSEZ said the partnership will expand Dighi Port’s capability as one of its 15 strategic ports, supporting India’s automotive growth under the Make in India initiative. The enhanced facility will ease both export and import of vehicles for global markets.
Motherson, through its joint venture Samvardhana Motherson Hamakyorex Engineered Logistics Limited (SAMRX), has signed an agreement with DPL to establish a dedicated auto-export facility at the port. APSEZ CEO and Whole-time Director, Ashwani Gupta, said the partnership combines APSEZ’s integrated infrastructure strength with Motherson’s expertise to create a seamless and resilient national vehicle logistics network.
Located strategically on India’s west coast, Dighi Port provides crucial access to Maharashtra’s landlocked industrial corridors. The port offers closed warehouses, tank farms and open stockyards for diverse commodity storage. With direct berthing facilities and strong road connectivity, the port is equipped to efficiently handle oil, chemical, container and bulk cargo, alongside its upcoming automotive operations.
