DPA Kandla Unveils CSR Projects To Upgrade Gandhidham City
The Chief Minister received a ceremonial welcome from DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh (IRSME) on his arrival at the Port Township in Gopalpuri, Gandhidham. Reaffirming its role as a catalyst for socio-economic progress in Kachchh district, DPA Kandla has partnered with the Gandhidham Municipal Corporation to implement key sanitation, beautification and civic improvement projects.
Among the initiatives, the redevelopment of the Heritage Road — from the Sardar Patel Statue to Gandhi Market — stands out as a flagship project. The plan includes landscaping, aesthetic upgrades and pedestrian-friendly design improvements to enhance mobility and public appeal.
Another major highlight is the redevelopment of Lilashah Circle into the DPA Green Hydrogen Park, conceived as a landmark symbolising Gandhidham’s status as India’s first Green Hydrogen City. This aligns with Gujarat’s growing leadership in renewable energy.
DPA will also adopt and upgrade two prominent public junctions, Jhanda Chowk and Adipur Circle, transforming them into improved civic spaces. In addition, the authority has committed support for a 24-month Swachh Gandhidham Sanitation Drive, covering mechanised and manual cleaning services across the East Zone.
Through these interventions, the Deendayal Port Authority continues to strengthen its commitment to sustainable regional development and public welfare, positioning itself as a key driver of growth and modernisation in western Gujarat.
