The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (GE Shipping) recently took delivery of the Japanese-built Ultramax dry bulk carrier Jag Riddhi, with a capacity of about 63,480 dwt. Built in 2019, the vessel was contracted for acquisition during Q3 FY26 and has been financed entirely through the company’s internal accruals.

Following this addition, GE Shipping’s owned fleet has increased to 40 vessels, comprising 26 tankers—including crude, product and LPG carriers—and 14 dry bulk carriers across Capesize, Kamsarmax, Ultramax and Supramax segments. The total owned tonnage now aggregates 3.20 mn dwt, with current capacity utilisation close to 100 per cent.

Additionally, the company has contracted to acquire one secondhand Medium Range tanker and divest its Very Large Gas Carrier Jag Vishnu. These transactions are expected to be completed in Q4 FY26.
