Inauguration Of OTM Administrative Complex At Puducherry
The facility houses an advanced Operations Centre (OC) and the Maritime Rescue Sub Centre (MRSC), Puducherry, which have been integrated to form a unified hub for command, control and coordination. The integrated infrastructure is expected to enable prompt and effective response to emerging maritime challenges and to streamline decision-making during incidents at sea. The new arrangements are aimed at improving the safety of life and property at sea and supporting the preservation of the marine environment.
CGDH No. 13 is responsible for Puducherry and central Tamil Nadu and oversees a maritime area of over 140 nautical miles. The headquarters will continue to coordinate a range of activities, including search and rescue, pollution response and maritime law enforcement in the region. The administrative complex will support logistics and personnel management while providing enhanced situational awareness for operational commanders.
Officials described the inauguration as part of broader efforts to modernise coastal security infrastructure and to strengthen preparedness against varied maritime risks. The development follows ongoing investments in assets and systems to bolster surveillance and response capabilities along the eastern coast. The establishment of the OTM Administrative Complex is expected to provide sustained administrative support to operational formations and to contribute to regional maritime safety and security.
