Knowledge Marine & Engineering Works (KMEW) has secured a contract from the New Mangalore Port Authority to deploy a River Sea Vessel (RSV) Type IV Security Patrol Boat, according to an exchange filing. The agreement, valid for five years, includes full manpower support from KMEW, excluding High-Speed Diesel.

Under the contract, the patrol boat will be dedicated exclusively to security operations at the port, including patrolling and monitoring port waters to safeguard vessels, personnel and critical infrastructure. KMEW stated that the deployment will strengthen port security and support the safe functioning of operations.

The vessel will be constructed in-house to meet operational requirements and ensure timely delivery. KMEW said internal construction offers a cost advantage and positions the company for further growth, particularly as it expands its service capabilities at Mumbai Port.

Chief Executive Officer Sujay Kewalramani described the order as a significant milestone and the company’s second consecutive win from New Mangalore Port Authority. He said the repeat order underscores KMEW’s role in India’s maritime security ecosystem and reflects the government’s increasing focus on port efficiency and ancillary services. He added that delivering solutions across key ports helps the company set new benchmarks in reliability and execution.

KMEW provides dredging services, owns and operates marine craft, and undertakes repair and refitting of marine vessels and infrastructure. Headquartered in Mumbai, the company operates across major ports including Kolkata, Visakhapatnam, Kandla, Vadinar and Sittwe in Myanmar.

In Q2 FY26, the firm reported a 10.09 per cent decline in consolidated net profit to Rs 112 million, while revenue from operations fell 4.4 per cent to Rs 501.7 million compared with the same quarter last year. Its share price declined 0.84 per cent to Rs 2,919 on the BSE.
