Rs 738.94 bn Maharashtra port project gets green signal
The responsibility for the new port lies with the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority. They had asked for the DTEPA's permission to construct the satellite port.
The application that the JNPA submitted to obtain permission for the establishment and development of the major port (Vadhavan port) has been approved. This permission is granted with the condition that it is subject to various terms and conditions set by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) and its associated bodies. These conditions include complying with the requirements of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and implementing the suggestions provided by expert groups and agencies as outlined in their respective reports.
