Vietnam's seaport capacity to reach 1.4 Bn tonnes by 2030

According to Vietnam News Agency's report on Monday, the Ministry of Transport has projected that Vietnam's cargo output via seaports could range from 1.2 to 1.4 billion tons by 2030, as outlined in the country's detailed planning for seaports, harbours, and water areas towards 2050. It is anticipated that between 17 and 19 million domestic and international passengers will transit through these seaports by 2030.
Xinhua news agency further reported that the investment required for the seaport system up to 2030 is estimated to be approximately 351.5 billion Vietnamese dong ($13.8 million). This includes 72.8 billion dong ($2.8 million) earmarked for public maritime infrastructure and 278.7 billion dong ($11 million) for port facilities.
