VOC Port Marks Successful Completion of CSR Skill Training Programmes

VOC Port has recently marked the successful completion of its latest round of skill development programmes conducted through the Centre of Excellence in Maritime and Shipbuilding (CEMS) under its CSR initiative. At the valedictory event held in Tuticorin, Chairperson Shri Susanta Kumar Purohit distributed certificates to trainees from the EXIM and Warehouse Executive, Welder and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) courses, in the presence of Deputy Chairperson Shri Rajesh Soundararajan and senior officials.

The initiative continues to show strong outcomes, with placement records reflecting high industry acceptance. All 14 trainees from the Welder and CNC Operator batch secured employment, achieving a 100 per cent placement rate. Many other candidates have also been placed with leading multinational companies, demonstrating the programme’s growing impact on career advancement and long-term community upliftment.

The Port has been conducting multiple training programmes to equip local youth with practical, industry-relevant skills across seven specialised vocational courses, including Domestic Data Entry Operator, Exim Executive, Warehouse Executive, Supply Chain Executive and Courier Associate Operations. Senior leaders emphasised the importance of continuous learning, gender equality and expanding opportunities for young professionals.

Through sustained training and employment-oriented initiatives, VOC Port reiterated its commitment to building an inclusive, skilled and future-ready workforce that supports socio-economic progress across the region.
