HFCL rose eight per cent to Rs 174.75 after it said it had received a purchase order worth Rs 1,350.9 million (Rs 1,350.9 mn) from RailTel Corporation of India, a Government of India undertaking under the Ministry of Railways. The order relates to the annual maintenance contract for the implementation of the secure operations network project for defence data centres. The company said the AMC will be executed over a five year period ending in January 2031.

HFCL clarified that neither its promoters nor promoter group entities have any interest in the awarding authority and that the contract does not constitute a related party transaction. The company noted that it had earlier executed the implementation of the secure operations network under a contract awarded by RailTel, completing the design, supply, installation and commissioning of one central data centre and 120 mini data centres across defence establishments nationwide. The original project encompassed hardware, software and data centre infrastructure along with artificial intelligence enabled network security systems and was completed in line with prescribed contractual, technical and security requirements.

Following completion of the warranty period, RailTel awarded HFCL the AMC to provide end to end maintenance support services intended to ensure the availability, reliability and security of the infrastructure that underpins critical defence communication operations. The scope includes preventive and corrective maintenance, network monitoring, incident management, performance optimisation and 24 by seven technical support services. The company said the AMC will sustain operational readiness of the secure network and enable ongoing performance enhancement.

HFCL is a diversified telecom infrastructure company. On a consolidated basis it reported net profit of Rs 1,785 million in Q4 March 2026 compared with a net loss of Rs 814.3 million a year earlier, and net sales rose 127.81 per cent to Rs 18,241.2 million. RailTel reported standalone net profit of Rs 1,435.2 million and revenue of Rs 16,688.6 million in Q4 FY26.
