The 10th Thailand-India Defence Dialogue was held in Bangkok on 16 June 2026 to review the full spectrum of bilateral defence cooperation and to exchange perspectives on regional and global security. The session was co-chaired by Thailand's Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defence, Admiral Nuttapol Diewvanich, and India's Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Satyajit Mohanty. Both delegations examined developments in the Indo-Pacific security environment and reaffirmed the importance of promoting peace, stability and prosperity across the region through sustained engagement and practical measures.

Delegations reviewed progress since the previous dialogue and assessed ongoing military-to-military engagements and capacity-building initiatives that enhance operational interoperability. Discussions encompassed training exchanges, maritime cooperation, combined exercises and other cooperative activities that support readiness and mutual understanding. Officials underscored the value of sustained personnel exchanges and institutional links to strengthen trust and to develop shared approaches to common challenges.

Participants also reviewed defence industry cooperation and identified opportunities to deepen collaboration in defence manufacturing, research, innovation and capability development so as to foster mutually beneficial partnerships. The aim was to encourage greater cooperation between the two defence ecosystems, including joint research, co-development and transfer of skills that support indigenous production and technological advancement. Proposals were discussed to expand joint projects, cooperative research programmes and training modules to build long-term capabilities.

The delegations exchanged views on cooperation under regional and multilateral defence frameworks, including Association of Southeast Asian Nations-led mechanisms, and reaffirmed their commitment to address shared security challenges through coordinated action. The meeting concluded with consideration of future engagements and the way ahead for bilateral defence cooperation, with an emphasis on practical steps and follow-up activities. India and Thailand elevated their bilateral ties to a formal Strategic Partnership in 2025 and signalled intent to consolidate that framework through sustained defence cooperation.
